Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting children with complex additional needs?
We are currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Stourbridge that supports pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly supportive environment, helping children and young people with complex learning needs achieve their full potential. Many of the pupils are non-verbal and require tailored communication and learning support throughout the school day.
Set within beautiful grounds, the setting offers a unique learning environment with extensive outdoor spaces, sensory opportunities, and access to a working farm, providing pupils with enriching experiences beyond the classroom.
The Role
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.
- Working closely with students with PMLD, SLD, and complex needs.
- Supporting non-verbal pupils using visual communication methods and sensory-based learning approaches.
- Assisting with personal care where required.
- Encouraging engagement, independence, and social development.
- Supporting pupils both within the classroom and during outdoor learning activities.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
Requirements
- Previous experience working within SEN, care, support work, healthcare, or a similar setting is desirable.
- Experience supporting individuals with PMLD, SLD, Autism, or complex needs is advantageous.
- A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable supporting pupils with personal care requirements.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is essential due to the location of the setting.
- Available to work full-time and start as soon as possible.
