A supportive and well-established SEN school in High Barnet is seeking a dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder across a nurturing and structured learning environment.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about SEN education and committed to helping children and young people develop confidence, communication, and independence.
The Role
You will:
  • Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Assist pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and classroom participation
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff
  • Help implement EHCP targets and behaviour support strategies
  • Encourage positive social interaction and independence
  • Support students with sensory and emotional needs throughout the school day
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
  • Patient, resilient, and empathetic
  • Passionate about supporting children with SEN
  • Experienced working with ASD, SEN, schools, or youth settings (preferred but not essential)
  • Confident supporting behaviour positively and consistently
  • A strong communicator and team player
  • Available full-time during term time
